There are many things that can happen to a family when dealing with someone with a alcohol abuser. Some may not realize it but this can brake someone marriage and relationship with kids up so quickly. It can cause so many problems in a family, it even considered like a “disease” with how it can effect them and what it can do to each member in a house hold. This can also go the genetics as well since it’s been proven over and over that alcoholism can be hereditary, making this more of a “disease” to the family. But also due to seeing how heavy the alcohol abuser can drink this causes others in the family to not want to end up like the family member and only about 10% of kids end up abusing alcohol just like the family member.

Our mission is to share others stories in the hopes that it can help families going through these hard times as well aren’t alone. We try to show that they’re many other people out there that are just like them and going or went through these same hard times and what had happened or still happening to them.

The Objective

Everyone has their own story; this can vary from good to bad. With those stories, I wanted to focus on people’s experiences with dealing with an alcohol abuser. This is something I’ve sadly had to deal with myself as well. I wanted this project to be about a safe place where others talk about their experiences and kind of let others know they aren’t alone with their situation.

The Solution

This can be very tough to talk about with others so, in the beginning, I made sure to do extensive research on it and everything that can affect a family. But while going on with the project and telling others about it they started to open up with their own stories and deal with an alcohol abuser. Of course, I asked for consent on if I could interview them, they agreed to it and tried to make the questions general to make sure it didn’t step on toes. Having these interviews, helped to make it more personal and drive the feeling I was going for in the project.
